“Sawasdee krap. I am Kostas Moraitis, alumni of Wandee School. Coming to Thailand from Greece I only knew some ingredients, the most common, and nothing else about Thai cooking or culture. Studying at Wandee Culinary School was a fine choice for me. It is such an integrated institution that you can find everything there you need. First of all, there are many cooking stations and lot of equipment. Traditional recipes for cooking and making everything from scratch. Most of fresh ingredients bought from traditional Thai markets around the school. The staff of the school was always kind, helpful. I still remember every one that used to work there. From teachers to the cleaning lady and the reception everyone treated me very kind and always with a smile. I learned there so many new recipes, new ingredients, new tastes and even new cooking techniques. The best thing is that not only they help me learn but that they even asked me my opinion or ideas to make the course better. I thought this is Thai culture, they like to share and learn. That being said I started to love Thai cooking and Thai culture. I became passionate about cooking Thai food and I always try to make my teacher proud. I try to be like an ambassador of Thai cooking in my country. I challenge my friends and colleagues to eat Thai food. For me Thai food is something special because it reminds me Thailand and Thai people. I like spices and fresh herbs, soups and curries, noodles and rice, seafood and meat. All of them you can find in plenty combinations. In conclusion Thai food for me is to share with others, is to have fun. Thai food and culture are love.
